The CHI2 Programme, led by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), consists of collaborators from African and European countries. The collaboration on this particular project arises from many years of building relationships, as shown in the “Collaboration Web” below.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Discipline of Occupational and Environmental Health has been collaborating with the University of Gothenburg for over 15 years, with the University of Zimbabwe for over 20 years. Although, UKZN’s relationship with the University of Birmingham is a little over two years, the latter have had over 10 years collaboration with Gothenburg. Lund University’s relationship with Haramaya University has allowed new collaboration to emerge with the other team partners.
