The key outcomes:
- Implement sustainable and feasible interventions in environments of children, particularly their homes, schools and play areas
- Create networks that become active and engaged including all stakeholders, such as communities, government, academia, technical organisations and others committed to addressing the impacts of heat on young children – these will become Communities of Practice, consulting, co-creating interventions and having oversight over programmes
- Develop programmes that create increased awareness among caregivers, service providers and communities generally, and developing educational programmes and activities for young children
- Through the engagement of the Communities of Practice, build foundations for new policies at government and institutional levels (eg. schools, health facilities etc)
- Through improved understanding of the relationship between heat and child health generally, and respiratory health specifically, we will develop baseline heat-related health indicators to identify adverse health, and serving as tools for rapid assessments of post interventions in selected environments.
